Table of Contents
Google says:
- People with winning mindset believe that they can achieve their dream life. It takes courage to believe and once you started believing in your dreams, no one can stop you from achieving it. Successful people believe while other people are doubting. As it is said, “Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will”.
The Importance Of A Winning Mindset
Most people do not have a winning mindset. They are content to let life take them in whatever direction it decides and stay firmly within their comfort zone.
But are they really content with this?
Invariably the answer is no. They will talk about starting a business of one sort or another, maybe even do a little research but it stays as a ‘maybe some day’. There are always a myriad of reasons not to do it.
But those people don’t really want to make the effort required. They prefer to be busy watching programs or films on TV, spending time on social media or even sitting around wishing they had a better lifestyle.
If you want a better life, then you work on that mindset as much as you work towards your goals. A winning mindset is more than half the battle when you want to achieve success.
The scions of industry didn’t say “I must watch this week’s episode of ….. ” anything! Or “I will start that next week” “I will begin tomorrow” or any other excuse. They got started and worked hard.
The Traits Of A Winning Mindset
The best way to develop a winning mindset is to understand and emulate the traits that a person with a winning mindset possesses. Successful people all have similar traits that enable them to realise their goals and never hand over even when the going gets really rough. They know that mindset matters.
Lets look at the commonest traits of people with a winning mindset. You can compare these traits with your own and develop and improve any that you are lacking.
Action
Most people want everything handed to them on a plate. They believe that they’re simply entitled to the great things in life and that they don’t want to place any effort in to urge them. This is why numerous people are in massive debt because they use their credit cards to urge what they need immediately .
With a winning mindset you will know that this is not the way to do things. You need an idea and need to take massive action to realize your dreams. Taking action on a day to day towards your goals will bring you the success that you simply crave. And then it’ll be time to form your next dream come true.
Make a Start
You have the idea and then immediately get started. You know that time is a very precious commodity and there’s no better time to start out than immediately. Also, you know that starting a specific project enables you to create momentum which will help you to finish the project.
You don’t wait around for anyone or anything else to make a start. You don’t spend years planning, refining, researching and doing more planning. That is for dreamers, they don’t tend to ever get anything off the ground, it all stays on paper and is something to talk about doing, one day.
Nope, that winning mindset has you moving towards those goals from day 1.
Prioritising
You can’t do everything at once. People with winning mindsets often have a number of ideas and things that they want to achieve. But they know that they have to prioritise so as to use their time most efficiently.
So write down an inventory of things that you simply want to realize then prioritize them. Is there something on the list that’s causing tons of stress for you? If there is then tackle this first. Next pick something easy to work on. The reason for selecting something easy instead of something difficult is that it’ll build momentum.
Focus
It is extremely easy to urge distracted in today’s world. Most people have social media accounts and their phones are constantly alerting them to an update.
People with winning mindsets specialise in what must be done and are rarely distracted. Distractions cause procrastination which you would like to avoid in the least costs.
Some distractions are necessary. So if you’ve got been distracted for a crucial reason then you would like to refocus on your task. Any time that you simply lose focus just refocus again and obtain back to it.
Committed to learning
You will not only want, you will have a need, to learn something new each day. Your education didn’t stop when you left school or college. Nor did it stop once you learned the way to do your job efficiently. You are a life learner and discovering new things is one of your strong suits.
You constantly search out new knowledge that will keep you moving forwards to reach and surpass your goals.
Challenges
You are always striving to improve yourself.
Constantly pushing at the boundaries of your comfort zone and are never satisfied that you have done enough. Most people are afraid to try to do things that they need never done before. With a winning mindset though, you relish the challenge of new things and actively seek out more challenges.
Positive
You see the glass half full rather than half empty. There are opportunities all around you and you grab them with both hands. You take full responsibility for your life and never blame anyone else for where you’re today.
Your outlook is always positive and you believe in yourself and your future.
Persistence
Persistence means never giving up. If your world is crumbling around you then you keep right on going.
When you give up you send the wrong signals to your subconscious mind. Continuing to move forward in the face of adversity sends the proper signals. It says you aren’t giving up or even slowing down, that you will power through regardless. Work on your persistence all the time.
Review
When you have an excellent idea it’s natural that you simply are going to be very excited and need to require massive action to get things going. This is fine but at some stage you need to ensure that things are moving in the proper direction. It is pointless to stay on a path that leads to a dead end.
Review your progress regularly in order to make any necessary adjustments if needed.
Organisation
Are you organised? Do you know where things are on your computer and in your home? Is your desk organised, does everything have a place so that you can reach out at any time and put your hand on what you need?
In the long run, being organised saves a lot of time and effort. It’s pointless to spend half your time looking for files or folders when having everything in it’s proper place for when they are required, can make life so much easier.
Quitting
That winning mindset drives you forward all the time. However many obstacles rise up in your way, despite exhaustion and anything else that tries to stop you, you keep going. Quitting is never an option! If it briefly rears it’s head, it is dismissed almost instantly because you know you will succeed.
What is a Winning Mindset?
So are you any the wiser? Do you feel that you have a winning mindset?
Do you agree with any or all of my points? Do you have any that you think should be included? What do you do to keep yourself focused and moving forwards?
Do we really know and understand a winning mindset. I think its probably a bit different for each person. I don’t believe it’s something a person thinks about on a daily basis either. They either have it or they don’t.
You can change your behaviour and make new habits but it does take time and effort. Many want to change but few actually continue to work on themselves.
Are you determined to be a success and prepared to make the extra effort involved?

I love this topic, Winning Mindset is definitely a step towards success and you definitely explained what goes into it very well this article was a great read and definitely gets you thinking thank you for the article and perspective I agree it is different for everyone. With a winning mindset I think the biggest thing is finding your internal motivation it’d be cool if you could make a post elaborating on that.
Thank you Kyle, glad you enjoyed the post. Had not thought about a post on finding internal motivation, will give that some thought and see what comes up. I will write the title down and let it simmer and grow. Thank you for the idea.
Nice approach to this topic. Yes, almost every entrepreneurial or freelance works discuss this in order to build a business. Sadly winning mindset is not a topic in companies they mostly tell us we get paid by the hour so the incentive is quite mediocre.
I was curious does loving what you do also need to be part of the winning mindset? I agree that action comes first overall and am glad you put it first!!
Thank you for your comments.
Interesting question there too. I think that loving what you do makes a big difference if you are working for yourself. To me, it helps put the mindset in place because you are eager to get up in the mornings and get started. It’s not a chore you try to get out of and everything flows that much more easily. The learning, the writing, the companies coming to you rather than having to seek them out.
When you start out, the mindset keeps you going through the initial learning and building phase because you are focused on success. But if you love the niche you have chosen, the mindset is still there heading towards the goals but it is all so much easier because you love what you do.
Hope that makes sense.
