What is your Passion

Passion led us here

What is YOUR passion?

What do you most like to do? Most LOVE to do?change your life Limited Time Offer on Wealthy Affiliate Yearly Plan

Sport, outdoor or indoor?

Your home and or garden?

Making things? Crafts of some sort?

Painting. Are you an Artist?

Reading? Are you a prolific reader?

Do you write? A blog, stories, journal, recipes etc?

Perhaps you have many interests you pursue. When you lose interest in one you move on to the next. It saves you getting bored.

Discover your passion.

If you have many interests or even just a few how do you discover your passion?

fuel your passion

What do you talk about the most? Which one lights a fire within you and which hobby/pastime/interest do you spend most time and money on?

We have all heard people talk about something with real passion. They light up with the excitement it gives them to pass on what they know. They love it so much they feel everyone should want to do it too. That’s real passion!

Your main passion will be the one thing you do that you cannot and do not, give up entirely, even when other things catch your interest.

How to find passion?

What if you spend most of your time working and have been for many years to build your career? What is your passion then?

Could it be the work you do or have you reached the point of realising there is more to life than work? So many of us reach a point of knowing we no longer want to work for someone else. That we want to enjoy life more. Be able to dictate the hours worked, around families and other interests. Plus, those long hours can be better spent building your own business and creating your own fortune rather than for someone else.

So you have reached that point or at the very least, are starting to think about options, otherwise you wouldn’t be searching.

So if you haven’t had time to enjoy hobbies/pastimes, what have you done to unwind? TV, Cinema, reading, online or offline games, walking,  swimming, meditating, yoga, anything at all? Anything you made time for could become a passion.

Why do we want a passion?

Because a passion could become a business.

If you love what you do, it’s not such hard work. The long hours won’t matter, the time it takes to set it up and then for it to build, won’t matter. You will be working towards your own future and that alone will make it worth it. Add in doing something you love and you will gladly graft all those long hours.

Also a passion makes an excellent niche for a business website.

Why does that matter?

It will be much easier to write about something you are passionate about. You will have many blog posts you will fill easily. You won’t run out of ideas of subjects to write about.

Why would you need to write?

Nowadays if you sell anything you need to write about it. This is commonly known as blogging. If you go searching you will find blogs on every subject under the sun.

There is plenty of competition so you need to catch people’s interest enough for them to read a post all the way through and then want to come back. You need to build a following and trust. Your readers need to be able to trust what you say.

Blog. What is your Passion

If you are writing about a subject you know well and it’s an interest of theirs, they will understand that you know what you are talking about. This starts to build trust and will bring them back. Then when you recommend something you have they will be more inclined to buy.

This is a new and better version of the salesman. Where they would spot you, talk at you, drone on about facts and figures and bore you to tears until you couldn’t wait to escape.

We are the sales people now but times have changed, now we need to be interesting, passionate about what we do and capture the persons interest from the outset.

We need to have the answer they seek, to solve a problem they have, to help in any way not necessarily by selling them something, just helping because we can. Yes we are running a business but we are human beings too, put on this planet to help each other.

What now?

You have a passion, want to work for yourself and definitely like the idea of working from home. Yes? No commute, late trains or  buses jam packed or traffic jams, irate drivers, accidents, delays, boredom and most of all, so much time wasted. Not so bad on a train, you can start work, if you have a seat.

traffic jam

How many hours are wasted. What’s the commute, an hour each way? Even a bus ride into the city can take nearly that long for me. Love the house a bit early, just in case the bus is early and walk to the bus stop, wait in the queue, takes time when it’s busy. If it’s commute time in the morning, everyone going to work, the traffic is non stop and holds the bus up. You finally reach your destination, get off and walk to your place of work. Sound familiar?

Same with trains. It’s not just the journey time, it’s how long it takes to get to the station, the wait for the train etc. Then it’s the same in reverse returning home.

Bet that working from home is sounding very attractive right now, especially for those who’s commute is even longer.

Can’t afford to leave the job?

What do you do then? Start building a business in your spare time like countless people before you.

No business takes off overnight, it takes hard work and a lot of hours just to get it started. Does it still sound attractive? If so then you decide what you want to do. No idea? That’s okay, I know a brilliant place that will teach you all you need to know about business, show you how to build a website, how to blog, all about SEO, google rankings, social media and ……….

What?

You thought social media was just for keeping up with family and friends. Ahhh ……. and google is just there to answer questions. You have much to learn.

It will be fun, exciting, tiring, frustrating and wonderful.

Where to go?wealthy affiliate membership link.

This site I know is Wealthy Affiliate. Ostensibly it is for affiliate marketing, a rapidly growing area of work online. You advertise other people’s products and earn commissions if those people buy through your links. That’s the simplified version.

The one of the best things about this site is the training, it’s easy to follow and the videos can be stopped and started as you build your shiny new website. No losing your place and starting over. If you didn’t quite get it, go back and see it again. Even I could do it.

Am I biased about this company? You bet I am. After months and months of searching, watching endless videos that ended with a push to buy some system or another that would supposedly make me a fortune overnight I was very wary, expecting yet another scam.

But unlike every other ones I saw, this one let me sign up for free, not a debit card in sight and then get to start building a website. I got to look around, talk to people, was welcomed warmly and offered assistance at every turn. No other I had come across even allowed a peek at what was on offer without handing over a few hundreds or thousands of pounds.

Is Wealthy Affiliate any good?

I joined back in March, signed up for Premium membership in April and I still love every minute of it. Am I earning yet? No but it takes time to build and this year I have limited time to work on my sites. Did I mention I now have 5 websites?

What is your Passion 1

And I am loving every minute of it. YES! Is it plain sailing? No! When I come up against a problem I ask the community and/or the site support. Works every time.

I have time for my family, I go to visit different ones for 3 -4 days each month. One over a long weekend, Thursday to Monday, 2 others for 3 days each time during the week.

I couldn’t do that with a regular job. With this work, the laptop goes too.

Read my 6 month Review HERE!

If you want a better future, work you can fit around your family, now is the time to begin. It will take time to build up but it’s better to be working towards your future than staring at a TV screen every evening.

Try it for free. Join, have a look around and decide for yourself. If it’s not for you, just leave. You’ve lost nothing by looking. Or you could find a whole new passion, introducing your passion to others!

What do you Fear

What do you Fear?

What holds you back from living your best life, what do you fear most?

These are the ten most common. Is yours here?

  1. Arachnophobia  [The fear of spiders.]
  2. Ophidiophobia  [The fear of snakes.]
  3. Acrophobia   [The fear of heights.]
  4. Agoraphobia  [ The fear of open or crowded spaces.]
  5. Cynophobia   [The fear of dogs.]
  6. Astraphobia   [The fear of thunder and lightning.]
  7. Claustrophobia   [The fear of small spaces.]
  8. Mysophobia   [The fear of germs.]
  9. Aerophobia   [The fear of flying.]
  10. Trypophobia   [The fear of holes.]

There are of course many more fears and they can produce very real symptoms in the body.

I was  terrified of spiders but I managed to overcome that, though I still don’t like them, the sight of them doesn’t paralyse me with fear anymore.

However, heights does. I don’t even need to be aware I am high up. I know because my knees turn to jelly, I feel nauseated and cannot move forward, however much I try. It has happened often.

Sound familiar? Are you affected physically by your fears?

Do you have a more unusual fear?

Are you afraid to tell people what you fear?

Some of the more unusual fears.                                                                                    Hiding the face

  1. Alektorophobia  [The fear of chickens]
  2. Metrophobia  [The fear of poetry or rhyming verse]
  3. Ephebiphobia  [The fear of youths]
  4. Ergasiophobia  [The fear of work]
  5. Optophobia. [The fear of opening one’s eyes]
  6. Neophobia  [The fear of newness]
  7. Anthophobia  [The fear of flowers]
  8. Pteronophobia  [The fear of being tickled by feathers]
  9. Vestiphobia  [The fear of clothing]
  10. Phronemophobia  [The fear of thinking]

What can you do about it?

For some, professional help is the best way to go, or there are things you can try yourself.

Take some time out. Try to distract yourself if possible or remove yourself from the situation.

Breathe. Learn some calming breathing techniques, focusing on your breathe can help the fear recede.

Don’t use alcohol or drugs as this can make it worse.

Walk outside in nature, it can have a very calming affect.

Try meditation as a calming technique.

These are just a few of the many remedies you can try yourself, if only to ease the anxiety and symptoms at the time.

A hidden Fear!hiding beneath cushions

This is one that can stop us succeeding and at times hold us back in life.

Have you ever been so afraid of failing at something that you decided not to try it at all? Or has a fear of failure meant that, subconsciously, you undermined your own efforts to avoid the possibility of a larger failure?

The fear of Failure.

[Also known as Atychiphobia.]

Have you looked at activities and thought you would like to have a go at that but something always holds you back?

Wanted to run your own business but there was always a reason not to? The wrong time, not enough money, not enough time and its always put off until later.

Or you take the plunge but somehow it always goes wrong. You start off well, it begins to take off but somehow it falls flat. You could well be sabotaging yourself without realising it.

This can stem from childhood. Traumatic events can be a cause, even if you cannot remember it. Being undermined, criticised and/or humiliated when you tried to do something, by the adults around you, parents, teachers, other family members, adults in authority over you in any way and even other children.

These type of events can cause Limiting beliefs that are held within the subconscious.  You tell yourself you aren’t good enough to achieve a promotion, be successful at anything and gradually you stop trying, believing that inner voice.

You can end up with low self esteem and lack of confidence in yourself and the decisions you make.

Talk about how you feel and you will find you are not alone.

What can you do about it?

Think about whether it does affect you first. Does any of this sound familiar? Sometimes just reading something like this can make you realise that it’s possible.

If it does it’s easier to overcome once it’s out in the open. It can bring a sense of relief.

The best part is, instead of the fear of failure holding you back you can look at in a different way.

Look at various well known people, read  up on them. Many were told they wouldn’t amount to anything. Were told they didn’t have what it takes. Dropped out of school, etc. Then look at where they are today. Highly successful and at the top of their field. Look up Michael Jordan and Richard Branson, one was told he didn’t have what it takes and the other dropped out of school. What do you Fear 2

If you can understand that failure is a lesson learnt, not something that means give up, you will be over the first hurdle.

There are many hurdles on the way to success, some you will fly over,

others you will stumble on and occasionally fall.

What defines you is the way you deal with those hurdles. To succeed, you must get up, dust yourself down and having learnt from the experience, carry on.

You haven’t lost the race, unless you give up.

Conclusion.

Some fears take longer than others to deal with and some need more help to deal with them.

The hidden fear that stops us moving forward can be dealt with once you understand it’s there and why you hold back. It is possible to change the way you think, to erase limiting beliefs that hold you back through no fault of your own.

There can also be limiting beliefs that hold you back, formed through childhood onwards, that show as fears.

There are many books available and many Youtube videos on the subject that can and will help. You need to find those that resonate with you. Others can recommend but if they aren’t a fit for you. then they aren’t the right ones. I’ve tried to read books others have recommended and raved about, that have left me cold and wondering why I can’t see what they did.

The truth is, we are all different and what helps one person won’t necessarily be as good for another. So each person must seek and find their own truth.

What Inspires You

Inspire

In your daily life what inspires you? Are you inspired by anything?Person on a hill top What Inspires You

Does money inspire you or people that make a lot of money?

Are you inspired by those that help others?

Or maybe it’s the idea of Freedom that inspires your dreams. Read more HERE!

What Inspires You 3Or those who have a disability and do great things despite others expectations being low.

Is it the unknown ordinary person who quietly battles away each and every day and still manages to help others?

Or is it nature?

The grandeur, the beauty, the stillness, the sheer awe inspiring magnificence that is all around us, that most people never even notice.

The flower that struggles to survive, coming through a crack in the pavement.

Do you pay attention to what’s around you on a daily basis?

Maybe like most people you are caught up in the daily treadmill of work, home, sleep, repeat.

It can be so easy to get caught up in the daily existence and lose sight of the dreams and aspirations we once had. The desire for something that excites you, a job you enjoy rather than just getting through each day.

The dream never really dies though, it stays there in the back of the mind, dusted off occasionally after a particularly bad or tough day. Each time you think, ‘One day’.

What is your dream?
What Inspires You 4

For so many people that dream is working from home, whether for themselves or someone else.

It takes courage to take that big step towards freedom and your dream. To feel the harmony in your life that comes from taking those steps.

They feel that it must give a greater freedom. It does but ……….  it’s also hard to motivate yourself at times.

Other people see you as available.

You have to be very disciplined. There is no ” I’m tired and can’t be bothered’.

On the plus side you can move your hours around to suit yourself.

Work from your bed or the garden.

Be out in the day or spending more time with your family, enjoying life and work in the evenings.

What will you do?

Will you follow that dream, the dream that sets you free? The freedom to enjoy life and still earn a decent income, that gives you the chance to pursue other things you really want to do. Or having come this far, will you sigh and go back to the life you are living. wishing you could give it a try?

The solution!!

My Quest to learn Affiliate Marketing

A quest sounds very noble, rather grand and even quite exciting. Sounds as though I am looking for the holy grail doesn’t it? But what is my quest to learn affiliate marketing about really and why?

How it all began!

My Quest to learn Affiliate Marketing

In a far off galaxy ………

……….

many aeons  ago ………….

……………….

No, not really………

It began with my adult daughter telling me I should be an “influencer” because I had over 20,00 twitter followers.

An Influencer: a person able to influence potential buyers of a product or service by promoting or recommending the items on social media.

I was none the wiser. Her information? Lots of people do it and lots of companies hire influencers.

Me: Where can I get information?

Response: Online. You just do some tweets and get paid if people buy whatever you are advertising!

Sounds easy, I can do that. But was it? No of course not!

The next step!

But as time went on and I researched, looked at different companies and joined one. I had to set up an account, then set up a page to attract customers. I had no idea what I was doing. Couldn’t  find anything to walk me through the process either. Everywhere I went on the internet pop ups from their app would appear for me to tweet. Yes, I tweeted those tweets for them in the hope of gaining something, even encouragement would have been nice. After a few weeks I stopped tweeting them.

After 3 months of nothing, I emailed them to inquire about next or further steps.  Was I surprised when I didn’t get any response? A bit but I tried again, still nothing. So I deleted my account and the app and that was it.

I was essentially advertising their wares and their customers wares for free. You live and learn.

My Quest to learn Affiliate Marketing 7

So that was a dead end!

But I am stubborn, I would find out more if possible. I would keep going regardless.

I might have reached a dead end but at least all I had wasted was  time and effort, not cash.

The Quest.

My Quest to learn Affiliate Marketing 8I had no intention of giving up just because one avenue was a dead end.

I intended to buckle up and get right

back on the horse.

This had become a quest for knowledge. There had to be honest companies, after all a lot of people were already doing this and working online.

I wanted to find the holy grail of my particular quest. A real company with a way of working to earn money and didn’t con people to earn that wage.

It couldn’t be that hard, could it?

The information was out there somewhere, I just had to find it.

I started finding references to affiliate marketing and compared it with being an “Influencer”. They didn`t seem that different to me, plus being an affiliate marketer seemed as though it was more of a job to do and earn from.

I had no idea what it entailed but how hard could it be? I had started watching loads of videos that touted the amazing lifestyle that came with working a couple of hours a week.

I spent months researching for information on affiliate marketing. I wanted to learn but everything I came across offered the world for payment but had no substance.
I was starting to get very disillusioned by it all.

Then I started reading blogs on the subject. Once I started I found loads of them about various companies. Some were touting a particular “system” of their own. Others did comparisons to show you what was out there. Many others were writing about ones that were scams. If you have been seriously looking for information you will have come across lot’s of these too I expect.

My Quest to learn Affiliate Marketing 9

Some of course touted everything except their own system as a scam.

Or they pushed for the one they got most commission on.

It can be very disillusioning. One saying this is fantastic and another saying don’t touch it, its a scam.

There were constant choices did I go in that direction or this, take that path or the other one. I kept reaching a crossroad. Several directions with no clear idea which way

I didn’t want to waste time on leads that went nowhere but on the other hand I could miss out on a prime opportunity by not exploring every avenue.

So I kept looking, checking out every path just in case.

The main thing was, that I didn’t give up.

Wealthy Affiliates?

So the search continued over the months. The same name kept coming up over and over again. I followed the trail, finding out everything I could about it and it led me to Wealthy AffiliatesRead an early review I did after 4 weeks HERE!

and another review 6 months further on HERE!

All I had seen about this company sounded good but by now I was sceptical of everything. So I had a quick look and left. Looked pretty good but was it?

You could join for free. That was good right? Cash I intended to find out as much information as I could before the demands for money started coming in because it always happened. Didn’t it?

My Quest to learn Affiliate Marketing 10

I congratulated myself on a good strategy.

I joined ……. started learning ……. and ………………

I was hooked.

I learnt so much in a short time, I decided I would give the half price for one month offer a try, to see what premium is like. No way was I going to pay more. Just that one month only! The premium might not have much more, the best might be in the free bit to hook you in, it was probably a lot of hype. (I thought).

I was wrong. The premium training was even better, so much to learn, it was amazing, brilliant, fantastic.
And…… too late….. I was completely hooked, totally caught by the fantastic training and amazing community.

The Real Deal

They really were and are, the real deal. Free starter membership

Just over 3 weeks down the line and I have a wordpress website and blog. I thought they would be complicated and had always avoided it but it turns out that with step by step training, even I can do it.

Now when my half price month is up I intend to sign up to the yearly Premium membership. I figure that by the time the year is up I will have several sites up and running and the yearly fee will be a very minor expense.
