What is the Key to Success

Any ideas?

So…. I googled it. I found what I expected, a variety of lists. You might think that there would be one definitive list wouldn’t you? Sadly no because we are all different and have different ideas, opinions, goals and even differing views on what success means.

So each person knows, just as I feel that I know. Actually,  I know there are a variety of keys but I also know that there is one thing without which the other keys won’t work.  One thing that you need above all others to reach the pinnacle of success.

Let’s look at the variety of keys required first.

Knowledge

Avoid the Get Rich Quick schemes, you will waste time and money on something that may briefly make money but so often you have to spend more and more to get anywhere. Understand that you cannot reach success by throwing money at something. You need to learn about business, how to go about it and what you have to do to build a successful business.

If you are wanting an online business, then you need to know how to do that. How to set up a website, all about SEO, social media, blogging and then the area you want to go into, selling goods, dropshipping, affiliate marketing etc.

Determination

Without determination, there is no push to keep going. You need to have that resolve to keep going no matter what. If you give up too soon you will never know how close you were to the success you crave.

Determination will keep you going when you are tired and want to stop. It will keep you going when you think that you will never be able to learn all you need to know. It will drive you on when you are convinced that integrating so much knowledge is an impossible task and then keep you moving forwards as you pass that stage and build on what you have learnt.

You have decided you are going to do this and resolved to persevere and keep going regardless of how long it takes to reach success.

Hard work

This should really go without having to be said but in this day and age of instant gratification, I feel it needs to be stated loud and clear!

HARD WORK! It takes hard work to build the foundations of a successful business and hard work to keep it going and being successful.

You will need to put in the work and the time if you want your business to be successful. To keep working towards your goal even when you feel like giving up. At any point you just don’t know how close you might be to success.

You will reach a point of overload, most people do, but if you can work through that it will suddenly become much easier.

So many give up too easily.

Discipline

Discipline is an obvious one. You have to be disciplined to organise your workload. Perhaps you are working at a job while you build your business, so you need to organise your time and make sure you carry through with the work needed for your fledgling business.

You need discipline to continue, even if you are tired.

Maybe your friends or family want you to go somewhere or do something, the easy option is to just forget the work waiting. But if you are disciplined you will continue to work, even if only a little, knowing that further down the line you will have more time for all those things.

Belief

Without this, you might as well not start really. If you don’t believe you can do it, then you won’t. Self-belief is a very big part of success. If you don’t believe in yourself then why would anyone else?

It is easy to say you believe you can do it but saying that and having the complete knowing that you can and will do this, are two entirely different things.

It is human to doubt occasionally at low moments but the majority of your focus should be on success.

The belief should be strong enough to ensure you can ignore all those that try to deter you under the guise of  ‘good advice’.

So What is the Key to Success?

Passion!

To me, this is the main key to success.

If you don’t have a passion for what you are doing then it comes through in your writing.  You will struggle to find new ideas to write about after a time. The enthusiasm won’t be there in the same way as if you were truly passionate about your niche.

You will probably start off well but then it will become more of a chore.

Often we start out looking at it from the money angle. You know what I mean. You research what is popular and will make you the most money. Let’s be fair. There is nothing wrong with that, we all have to make a living. It’s possible to have sites you aren’t passionate about, that make money. But the chances are that your interest will dwindle despite the earning potential.

Passion will bring a flood of ideas, will make the writing flow, inspire you and pull you back constantly despite any other work you need to do. The right products will come along to either sell or be affiliated with when you are ready.

But most of all, it will be exciting and fun. Fun is not just for kids, it’s for everybody.

When you have passion for what you do, whether it’s a job, working for someone else, or your own business it is fun too.
